How to Avoid Fees on Some Self-Help Federal Credit Union Products and Services


Bill Pay - Monthly User Fee

Have any two (2) of these SHFCU products/services:

  • eStatements
  • monthly direct deposit of $25 or more
  • debit card

 

Mobile Banking - Monthly User Fee

Open and maintain enrollment in SHFCU electronic statements.

 

Mobile Check Deposit - Per Check Deposit Fee

Open and maintain enrollment in SHFCU electronic statements.

 

Check Cashing Fee

Be a member of Self-Help Federal Credit Union and maintain a combined balance in all SHFCU accounts of $200 or more. 

 

Regular/Basic Checking - Monthly User Fee

Have any one (1) of these SHFCU products/services:

  • eStatements
  • monthly direct deposit of $25 or more
  • a combined savings of $5,000 or more held on account

 

Premium Checking - Monthly User Fee

Maintain an average daily balance of $2,500 or more in the account.

 

Money Market Account

  • Below Balance Fee: Maintain a daily balance of $500 or more in the account
  • Excessive Withdrawal Fees:  Withdraw money in-branch or from an ATM

 

Club Accounts - Early Withdrawal Fee

Restrict your withdrawals to the penalty-free withdrawal period.

 

Term Certificates - Early Withdrawal Fee

Restrict your withdrawals to the penalty-free withdrawal period immediately after your account matures.

 

Savings & Money Market - Excessive Withdrawal Fee

Limit withdrawals from the account to 6 or less within the month.

The fee applies to each withdrawal after 6 free per month when NOT conducted in person, by mail or at an ATM.

 

Single Service Monthly Fee

  • Maintain a balance greater than $250, and generate activity on the account.
  • Open and maintain additional account(s) and/or service(s) at the Credit Union.

The fee applies to savings accounts with a balance of $250 or less and no activity over a six (6) month period. The fee does not apply to term certificate accounts, Club accounts and accounts owned by minors or seniors (age 65+).
